This site contains a set of stationery files, which you can use to build out your pages within the Stanford Medicine format. If you want to keep this format, replace all of the text on this page with your own content. Other formats are available. Examine the stationery files in your site for quick options. You can also request more advanced Home page layouts from Web Help.
Important: Read before you proceed
All Web Authors and Editors: As an SoM Web publisher, you will be bound by Stanford Medicine Web policies.
Staging Sites Only: Read our quick-start guide "Developing Your Site in IRT's Prototyping Area" before starting to work on your site. When you're finished developing your pages, IRT will review and publish them to their final location.
The root navigation.htm include attached to this page file must contain the key links for the site's major topics.
How to update left navigation: Contribute Users| Dreamweaver Users
Dreamweaver Users:
- Please DON'T attemp to reverse engineer or break pages out of their template. Contact IRT at http://webhelp.stanford.edu/ if you have any questions.
- You must extract the Templates.zip file into your local root folder to preview properly in Dreamweaver. See the instructions for more information. If you don't find a Templates.zip file, please contact Web Help.
- There are many resources available to you at Web Author Resources that you can utilize for the development of your site.
- Create new pages following the New Page instructions.
- 2-column stationery - most of your site's pages should use this format
- 3-column stationery - good for topic and main home pages
- 1-column stationery - when content won't fit in a 2-column page
- Contact Web Help for assistance setting up a special case design home page
- If you need to create a new section, follow the New Topic instructions.
- new_subdirectory - new topic folder contains a 2-column stationery file
- You CAN'T edit your sites's header and footer. Contact Web Help in order to request updates to these sections.
